Privacy First: Normal use of The Printer App keeps your photo contents on your computer. Importing, editing, layout work, printing, PDF rendering, and licensing do not upload your photos to Acme Factory Inc. If you voluntarily send a file to us for support, we receive only the material you choose to provide.
Acme Factory Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use The Printer App software, theprinterapp.com, checkout/licensing services, and related support channels.
We may receive information you provide when you:
Paddle processes payment and billing information for transactions it handles as the authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. We may receive limited customer and transaction information needed to fulfill, license, support, and reconcile the purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Our website, hosting provider, licensing service, email provider, and other operational providers may process standard technical request data needed to deliver, secure, diagnose, and operate their services. Depending on the service, this may include an IP address, browser or client information, requested page or endpoint, timestamp, response status, and related security or diagnostic information.
The Printer App licensing service does not receive:
Photo importing, image processing, layout work, printing, and PDF rendering happen locally on your computer.
When an eligible unlicensed Device starts a new trial, the desktop app makes a brief HTTPS request to register the trial with our licensing service. The request uses a pseudonymous SHA-256 hash derived from the machine identifier so the service can recognize that Device, record the canonical trial start time, preserve trial eligibility rules, and determine the current trial offer. For this unlicensed-trial registration, we do not require or send your name, email address, raw machine GUID, license key, photos, image file names, folder paths, EXIF metadata, layout contents, or print history.
During an eligible trial, purchase actions may request a short-lived signed promotional checkout authorization from the licensing service. This allows the service, rather than the browser URL, to determine the current authorized promotional offer. The authorization contains limited trial/offer provenance and does not contain your photos or project contents.
Paid-license activation, periodic validation, and deactivation use the license information and machine identifier needed to determine whether the license is valid for that computer and to enforce the activation limit.
The app may also make a lightweight HTTPS request for public release information so it can determine whether a newer version is available. The update request does not include your license key, machine identifier, photos, project contents, or app settings. The hosting provider may process standard technical request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested resource, client information, response status, and related security data needed to deliver and protect the service.
Trial and licensing requests do not include photo contents, image file names, folder paths, EXIF metadata, layout contents, or print history.
The Printer App stores application state locally as needed for normal operation. Depending on the feature, this may include settings, saved/recovery state, protected trial timing, activation information, a durable marker that a paid license has previously been activated on the Device, layout/project data, and the time of the most recent update-check attempt used to limit automatic checking frequency. The app does not send application analytics or photo telemetry to us.

Key service providers include Paddle for payment processing and Merchant-of-Record services, Cloudflare for website, network-security and licensing infrastructure, including release-information delivery, and Amazon Web Services/Amazon SES for transactional license email. These providers process information required to perform their respective services under their own applicable terms, privacy notices and legal obligations.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the services and information involved, including encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections for our website and licensing service and access controls for operational systems. Payment details are entered and processed through Paddle's checkout; Acme Factory Inc. does not receive or store your full payment-card number. No transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate licensing, support, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, transaction, and legal requirements. Service providers may retain their own transaction, security, email, or technical records according to their policies and legal obligations.
Depending on the laws that apply to our processing of your information, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection, or withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.
To request access to or correction of personal information, ask a privacy question, or make a privacy complaint, contact the Privacy Officer in writing at privacy@theprinterapp.com. Please provide enough information for us to understand the request and, where necessary, verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Acme Factory Inc. is based in British Columbia, Canada. Our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or other countries where they operate. Where cross-border transfer requirements apply, the responsible parties must use mechanisms or safeguards required by applicable law.
The Printer App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact privacy@theprinterapp.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, services, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
